image10

Background

Over the years SMG Motoring has performed a number of upgrades (5 speed transmission, Moser 12 bolt rear) to this car but the car retained its original 400 cu in Buick engine. Even with the upgrades the owner looked for increased performance and reliability. With this in mind the decision was made to swap the Buick engine for a GM LS based engine.

The Details

  • New BluePrint Engines GM LS3 engine, with warranty
  • Tremec TKO 600 transmission
  • PSI Conversions engine harness
  • Engine painted to match vehicle color
  • Custom, SMG Motoring designed, valve cover adaptors
  • SMG Motoring spec’d custom drive shaft

ProCharged 2018 Mustang GT

Background

Like so many of SMG Motoring’s customers, the owner of this Mustang was looking to increase their car’s performance with the addition of a proven, reliable power adder. The obvious choice was a ProCharger supercharger.

Wanting to keep the clean, understated look of the Mustang’s engine compartment, the owner chose the optional black powder coating for the supercharger and its mounting brackets.

The Details

  • ProCharger P1X supercharger
  • Billet by-pass valve
  • Verified vehicle calibrations of the completed upgrade using SMG Motoring’s Dynojet chassis dyno

The owner of this Corvette had purchased a number of parts to improve the performance of his otherwise stock C6 and didn’t have the time to install them himself. As a result, he went looking for a performance shop with the knowledge, experience and reputation for quality workmanship required to install the parts he purchased.

The Details

  • Customer supplied AFR heads
  • Customer supplied custom ground cam
  • Customer supplied supercharger kit
  • Customer supplied Mighty Mouse catch can
  • Verified vehicle calibrations of the completed upgrade using SMG Motoring’s Dynojet chassis dyno

ProCharged 1959 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck

image14

Background

This truck came to SMG Motoring with a GM LS engine already installed but the owner wanted a little more power and the WOW factor of a power adder. The owner discussed his goals with SMG Motoring and the decision was made to add a ProCharger supercharger.

As you might expect ProCharger does not make a complete kit to install one of their superchargers on an LS engine in a '59 Ford F-100, this where SMG Motoring’s extensive background with ProCharger superchargers paid off.

The Details:

  • ProCharger P1X supercharger
  • SMG Motoring designed supercharger installation kit using ProCharger components
  • SMG Motoring spec’d custom EFI fuel system
  • Verified vehicle calibrations of the completed upgrade using SMG Motoring’s Dynojet chassis dyno

The Results

  • Before - 246 WHP and 255 WTQ
  • After – 408 WHP and 353 WTQ

Perfection '35

Perfection '35

With the desire to have a one of a kind vehicle and the vision of a hot rod truck in their minds, Chris and Pam came to SMG Motoring in early January of 2019 with an idea. After brainstorming with Fred Jr. and the SMG Motoring team the build we now call "Perfection" was born.

The Idea – To create a killer hot rod truck that is understated at first glance, yet draws you in with its attention to detail. To build a truck that is subtle yet aggressive, tame but mean, all in one killer chassis with tire smoking horsepower on demand. That is the recipe for Perfection.

The Build – A Factory Five Racing '35 Truck kit is the basis for the project. Couple the race inspired chassis with a Procharged LS3 engine, sticky Nitto tires, adjustable coil over suspension, its clear to see how Perfection got its attitude.
